What Does it Mean to Dream About an Ex?
Dreaming about your ex is most often your subconscious processing the end of a relationship. Whether it is your ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, ex-husband, ex-wife – most likely you are not too eager to see these people in your dreams!
Fortunately, dreaming of an ex doesn’t typically mean what you might think!
Here are Some Common Examples of Dreaming About an Ex:
If you dream of physical contact with your ex:
Often times when a relationship ends feelings of pain, sadness, guilt, remorse, regret and bitterness are often present. There may also still be feelings of love and longing.
Most often if you dream of physical relations with your ex this indicates that your subconscious has not completely moved on from the breakup and that a part of you still desires some aspect of your ex.
You may be missing the intimacy and connection that you specifically shared with this person, even if you have this dream years later or are in a new relationship.
Of course, this is not to say that your ex was the best match for you or that you should consider restoring the relationship. It just simply means that you miss certain aspects of the connection you had and that your subconscious has not fully made the leap or is not entirely ready to accept the fact that you are no longer together with that person.
If you dream of arguing with your ex:
This dream most often reveals that you are still harboring anger or that you have not fully resolved conflicts that arose while you were with your ex. You may wish to evaluate what feelings of anger or bitterness you feel and to make an effort to forgive and let these feelings go.
Harboring these feelings will only cause you more anger and bitterness but through forgiveness you will find healing and peace. This is an exercise you can do on your own, or you may also wish to talk through things that are still causing you anger and upset and request a sincere apology from your ex, from which you can issue forgiveness.
If you dream of eating with your ex:
Many times we associate dating with going out to dinner or eating food together as a couple. Sharing food is often a sign that you miss the connection and company. It can also mean you are curious about what happened in the relationship that caused it to end.
If you dream of swimming/bathing with your ex:
Whenever a body of water is seen in a dream this is a symbol of your emotional self. As the saying goes, “The deeper the water, the deeper the emotions run.”
If the water is calm this indicates calm feelings or that a conflict has been resolved causing inner peace. If the water is rough or choppy this indicates that there is turmoil and that conflict resolution is still needed.
Consider the water in context to your feelings about your ex. this can help you better understand whether or not you are fully over the break-up and what feelings you are experiencing about your ex at the subconscious level.

If you dream of having good times with your ex:
This could be an indicator that you are missing some aspect of your relationship with your ex, that you have let go of the past and see the relationship for what it was, and that you are ready to embrace and keep the positive aspects of it.
If you dream of enjoying time with your ex this does not necessary mean that you would like to reconcile the relationship or that your ex is a good match for you (although it could) but typically just means that you have had healing since the break up and wish to retain the more positive moments in your heart.

I dreamt that my ex boyfriend came inside our house told me he was just grabbing his shoes. In my dream I knew and felt he was leaving me. No explanation or even a good bye, ( this is kind of how it happened in real life). He looked nothing like what he does in life, I then went to the opposite end of the house walked onto the balcony and he was in a truck which was being driven by his son ( who is to young to drive at present). Pulling out of our driveway, our son was waving goodbye to them. There were people sitting on the side of the road waving goodbye to them, I’m assuming they were our neighbours. I looked at him was a whole different person ( but to me he was still the ex). I turned and was just sad. But that was all, didn’t cry or yell. Walked back inside and carried on folding clothes. Very interesting dream. I hold no anger, but was very taken back by how I felt when I woke up. Like I just relived our breakup. Lasted 5 minutes. Can you explain this to me please??

I had a dream that I had seen my ex after a long time and we talked about how we missed each other how much we had meant to each other and how we where still best friends then we shared a long hug and I woke up.
I had a dream of my ex that bought us tickets for a train journey to Seychelles. The first time we went to the station together we missed the train. The second time we went separately, I was there before the train was in the station. The station was empty, I was with an unknown woman and decided to go to the shop. On my return, I stood on the bridge looking down and the train was there, allot of people was on the station and I saw my ex standing up from a bench he was sitting on. He smiled at me but he had make up on his face, dressed in a red shirt and black jeans. As I decended the steps, he walked towards the train to get on. I ran down towards the train and as I approached the train the doors closed, I forced a door open and got on. There were two women that told me the coach is blocked off from the rest of the train. They said I have to wait for the train to stop to go to the passenger side. They said I must be patient. I found myself on a bridge made of metal and for me to reach my ex I had to slide down to reach him. It looked like round thick bars put next to each other. I went down each one of them. There were 4. He waited for me at a white and turquoise building. When I reached him I wasn’t as excited as I thought I would be. I was happy to be with him.
I dream regularly of my first wife we are usually on vacation at the beach or going somewhere. Mubex husband passed away last year from a drug overdose. I dreamed he had been kidnapped and came to me for help. These people were trying too hurt him and I was trying to keep him safe. His mom and sister came over as well as my mom and our daughter was in it as well. He owes them money but they would not leave us alone and I Gave them money and kept trying to keep him safe. He was skinny and I said who was in the casket then and he said those guys put a guy in it that looked like him. He was still alive and just wanting me to help him. I don’t understand it. I woke up from a phone call then fell back asleep and the dream left off where it was at and kept going. What does this mean. I mourn his loss bad and can’t get past it.
